If anyone is serious about preserving their photos, https://thephotomanagers.com/ is an organization that promotes best practices and is able to refer certified photo managers in your area for both digital and analog photo management. There is also a great FB group that you can join to help you learn how to organize, preserve and share your photos. The FB group is called The Photo Organizing Hub.
Great tips! Also want to point out an even quicker way to scan photos through Apple notes. You can add a quick action through the control center (settings>control center) and once you add it you can go through the control center and find and hold down the little notes icon that brings up the ability to scan photos/ documents. Hopefully someone finds this helpful! Enjoy reading/watching your work!
Great advice on photo scanning. I’ve used Notes and Google PhotoScan and like both, though I can end up with weird distortions from the latter. I also find the act of lining up the four dots stress-making. I’ve been talking to Mitch for years about scanning my boxes of photos but never seem to get around to it.

I wish that I had never mounted my kids’ photos in albums with sticky pages….too much glue residue on the backs of all the photos…sigh
Wish I had read this earlier.
