The next iPhone is all about the camera

Bloomberg’s scoopmeister, Mark Gurman, has a report out tonight on the next iPhone, which is set to be announced next month.

Per his reporting, the new features will be all about the camera, with minor power and design upgrades. The two he cites that I’m excited about include being able to do Portrait mode like background blur in video (right now, it’s only available in still photography) and recording video at higher resolution, called ProRes by Apple. But be warned: while that will look great, the files will be huge, probably 5 times the size of what we have now.

Speaking as a photographer, I’m guessing most of you would prefer a camera that could zoom in even closer than it does now. Right? Or are there other camera features you’re hoping for? Let’s discuss those here.
